"Stained glass"-esque rendition of the sly, carnivorous each uisge, or "water horse" of celtic myth. You could always identify the kelpie by the sand and shells in its mane - if, of course, you dared get close enough to look. Trying to ride the kelpie was likely to end up with you dragged off, drowned and eaten.
Related to these, which I started back in 2008 - it has taken me until now to finish colouring and get it uploaded. Disappointingly, I can't find the original of the "peacock griffin" (I cut it out of my sketchbook, for some reason), which was the first one I did and actually my favourite, so I may have to start over on that one.
Markers on sketch paper, background added digitally.
